7 Reasons to Plan Your July Vacation with Ephraim Guest House

Sunset in Eagle Harbor, Ephraim, WisconsinJuly is readily upon us and it feels like the summer has just started.  Time flies and we all need to take some special moments and relax and unwind to be the best we can be.  But, what to do, what to do?  Well, here we’ve come up with some of the best reasons to visit Ephraim, Wisconsin and stay at the Ephraim Guest House.

1)  Beaches & Sunsets:  The Ephraim Public Beach boasts 175 feet of sand and surf.  The Ephraim Guest House is only 1/2 block away from the beach so there is no need to load yourself or the kids into the car to make it to the beach.  Simply leave the car parked, roll out of bed, and down to the beach you go.  When you’re ready for a break, simply come back to your home-away-from-home and enjoy your space with a fully equipped kitchen or we offer 2 grills for outdoor grilling pleasure.

2)  Picnics:  It’s easy to pack a picnic from your Guest House or stop by one of the many restaurants to order a picnic lunch to go.  Walk to the beach, sit by the hot tub, or find a quiet little nook in Harborside Park but whatever you do, a picnic is a great way to relax and enjoy the summer days or evenings in Door County.

3)  Concerts in the Park:  Monday evenings in Ephraim offer Concerts in the Park at Harborside Park.  Concerts start at 6:00pm and end around 8:00pm.  If we do happen to receive rain on a Monday evening, the music is moved indoors to the Ephraim Village Hall.  Be sure to bring a blanket and chairs and stay for the sunset.  DSC_0010

4)  Ice Cream:  Door County has no shortage of Ice Cream shops and of course Ephraim is famous for Wilson’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Shop.  Again, we are located withing walking distance to Wilson’s so there is no reason to feel guilty about indulging in this pleasure.  Remember, there are no calories when you’re in Door County.

5)  Kayak Rentals:  Located in the Ephraim Harbor you can rent kayaks from the Ephraim Kayak Center.  Whether you’re an experienced kayaker or a novice, Ephraim Kayak Center offers rentals and tours.  Their tours are typically in the morning and evening.  A great way to start or end your Door County Day.

6)  Ephraim Historical Foundation Tours:  Walking Guided Tours of Ephraim help you to understand the history of Ephraim and are offered Tuesdays through Saturdays in the summer.  Each tour takes approximately an hour and a half and encompasses about one and a half miles of walking through Ephraim and visiting Ephraim’s museums.  Tours depart from the Anderson Barn History Center.

7)  The Preserve at Anderson Pond:  The Preserve at Anderson Pond is one of our favorite quiet places to escape to and be one with nature.  Purchased by the Door County Land Trust from the Anderson family, this 27-acre piece with entrance off Moravia Street retains the pond, woods, wildlife and natural beauty for all residents and visitors to enjoy.  If you enjoy hiking through the woods, this is a must-do on your stay.

Stay a week, stay a weekend but as you can see Ephraim has much to offer and more…
