Looking to take part in the action that surrounds Door County the weekend of June 19-21st? So much is happening in Door County this weekend that everyone in your group will find something to make their heart sing and with all the activities, rooms are booking fast.
The festivities are located throughout northern Door and our property is right in the middle of it all. If you enjoy bike riding, the Peninsula Century Spring Classic Ride is sure to please. The Spring Classic will be held the Saturday of Fathers Day weekend, June 20, 2015. The ride starts and ends at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall Park and will provide riders with a scenic early season ride featuring routes through the middle of the peninsula. This ride also helps to raise funds for the Door County Community Foundation. To register for the ride or to find more information, please visit www.ridefornature.com.
Another fun event this weekend is the Door County Beer Festival in Baileys Harbor. Good food, good beer, and good music with a lot of fun mixed in. The Door County Beer Festival offers more than just tasting brews. Seminars are held to teach information on beer styles, food and beer pairings and more about barley and hops. Enjoy fantastic food from local Door County vendors such as restaurants and farmers and listen to the music all afternoon. Tickets are on sale now for general admission or upgrade to VIP. VIP access will give guests access to a very special event hosted by Kyle Cherek of Wisconsin Foodie.
Cherek will lead a roundtable discussion with five Wisconsin brewers and brewery owners in the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. In addition to everything included in the general admission ticket, VIP ticket holders will also receive a Door County Beer Festival koozy and other goodies. Tickets are $75.00 and space is limited! For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.doorcountybeerfestival.com.
After a day of riding bike or taste testing beer, come back to the Ephraim Guest House Condo’s and walk to the Harbor for Ephraim’s 51st Annual Fyr Bal. Fyr Bal is a re-creation of the traditions Norwegians celebrated for the mid-summer’s eve. With artists, food, family fun activities, and music all located along the bay shore of Eagle Harbor, you can easily make a full day of the activities. Watch the sun set in the evening and enjoy the annual lighting of the bonfires on the shore. These bonfires represent the burning of the “winter witch” and allow the warm, long days of summer to descend. Stay for the fireworks at dusk, then walk back to the Guest House and cozy up in your condo for a peaceful rest.
This is one of our favorite weekends at the beginning of summer and we hope you’ll join us in enjoying all that Door County has to offer. Whether for the festivities or the pure beauty that is Door County, we can’t wait to see you.
